Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop the annual strategic and operations plan for the product lines in Europe.
- Develop and implement brand strategies for Saunders products in Europe.
- Lead strategic initiative execution.
- Set an inspirational vision for the wider business team.
Market Analysis
- Conduct broad and deep analysis of competitive landscapes and regional market economic and industry indicators.
- Perform broad and deep analysis and projection of regional market size, growth rates, and current share positions.
- Maintain a project win/loss database for analysis and trend purposes.
- Perform rigorous primary (VOC) and secondary market research to inform business strategic and decision making.
New Product Development and Business Growth
- Identify and research new product development ideas and opportunities.
- Develop business cases for investment in new product development.
- Participate as a key stakeholder in a world-class 7-stage New Product Development process.
- Manage the project lifecycle of new product launches in respective regions to achieve key business objectives.
Customer and Sales Interface
- Interface with sales leadership, channels, and customers to determine annual sales plans, account management support, projects and prospects, and provide product application, technical, and service support.
- Provide sales target opportunities by application and geography, and support these with product and “how to win” sales tools.
Marketing
- Drive marketing efforts for portfolio, including creating brand/product communication and promotion plans.
- Manage marketing expense budgets, and select and execute exhibitions.
- Define and communicate the brand and products’ value proposition.
- Ensure training for both internal and external employees and channels.
Application and Training Development
- Develop deep understanding of application/segment information for respective products and create product application training materials.
Business Model Execution
- Define product line pricing, lead time, reasonable order quantity, and profitability.
- Oversee the development of manufacturing models to support business model and profitability targets.
- Establish regional product sourcing strategies and develop appropriate product channel strategies with Sales Managers.
Educational and Industry Experience:
- A master’s degree in Engineering is required; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly desirable.
- Minimum of three years of experience in business development of product management within a technical or engineered product environment.
