Location:  Western U.S. Region — Candidates must reside near a major airport and be based in one of the following states: Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, or Wyoming.

This role requires frequent regional travel.

Job Scope

The Regional Business Director (RBD) drives sales growth by recruiting, training, and motivating a world-class sales channel. This role aligns distributor goals with Acumed’s strategic plan, partners with distributors to understand business development needs, and supports sales activity for major accounts. The RBD tracks progress to goals, manages equipment and materials, and ensures compliance with company policies.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase market share and revenue in assigned territory.
  • Recruit and manage high-performing sales groups aligned with growth and product objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key surgeons, customers, and distributors.
  • Forecast and report sales revenue and KPIs; drive accountability to quotas and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Oversee inventory use and deployment in the field per company policy.
  • Partner with National Accounts on contracting and pricing for hospitals and major accounts.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with selling entities; create and manage strategic plans by Business Unit.
  • Identify market trends and competitor activity; seek new growth opportunities.
  • Support field sales training needs; participate in sales meetings, conventions, and industry events.
  • Travel weekly (flying and driving) as required.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years in medical products/devices (5+ years managing independent agents/distributors and direct sales teams).
  • Strong understanding of regional market dynamics and business practices.
  • Excellent relationship management, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
  • Proven ability to handle product questions and surgical use of devices.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and business development principles.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and leadership abilities; works well independently and collaboratively.

Target Compensation:

$153,00.00 – $320,00.00 (salary + incentive)
