About the Role


You'll be at the forefront of designing and implementing infrastructure and process equipment that meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You'll lead strategic initiatives that align with food quality certifications, optimize energy use, and drive continuous improvement across our facilities.


Your key responsibilities will include:

In this role, you’ll be the technical champion behind our automation and digital transformation strategy. You’ll guide the design, standardization, and evolution of the systems that keep our operations running efficiently and intelligently.

You will:

  • Lead the selection, deployment, and standardization of a companywide SCADA platform
  • Build and execute an Industry 4.0 roadmap aligned with long-term capital strategy
  • Design and support PLC, HMI, and industrial network architecture across all facilities
  • Integrate production data to support OEE, downtime analysis, predictive maintenance, and performance optimization
  • Serve as the automation lead for major capital projects and new equipment installations
  • Manage multi-site engineering initiatives including scope, timelines, budgets, and vendor coordination
  • Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, IT, OEMs, and integrators to ensure scalable, secure systems
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical leadership across multiple locations

You'll bring:

We’re looking for someone who blends technical depth with a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing automation or system integration
  • Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills
  • Hands-on experience implementing or managing SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and control system cybersecurity
  • Experience in high-speed packaging or beverage manufacturing is a plus
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. The company will not sponsor employment visas now or in the future
  • Applicants must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English at a level necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

*This position will report to one of our 7 facilities locations OR our corporate office in the greater Milwaukee area.

Mileage and expense reimbursement provided for work-related travel.

Wis-Pak was founded in 1969 to provide a centralized supply of canned soft drink products to its owners. A building was constructed in Watertown, Wisconsin, and equipped with a can line. Production began in 1970. Wis-Pak has since become one of the largest and most successful cooperative companies in the soft drink industry. Wis-Pak is owned by 37 Shareholders, representing 65 Pepsi-Cola franchises. Their franchises cover parts of Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin. The wholly-owned subsidiaries include eight filling plants, a transportation company, a bottled water company, and a company for centralized administration. In 2004, Wis-Pak formed a majority-owned subsidiary, WP Beverages, LLC, to purchase the Pepsi-Cola franchise operations of Madison, Wisconsin and Rockford, Illinois. Additional franchises acquired by WP Beverages include Iron Mountain, MI (2006), Mitchell, SD (2008), Park Falls, WI (2017), Rock Island, IL (2018), and Green Bay, WI (2019).
