Role Overview
As Accountant for systemsGo, you will be a senior accounting representative responsiblefor ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial operations for Hongkong andTaiwan within the region, plus providing additional support to the APAC team asrequired. You will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, cash flow,compliance, and process improvements, while supporting the overall financial strategy ofthe organization. Additionally, you will oversee HK administrative tasks and payrolloperations, and coordinate audit and tax activities to ensure smooth and efficient businessoperations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of transactions into the general ledger.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet) in line withaccrual accounting principles.
- Manage the month-end closing process, including preparing adjusting journal entries(e.g., accruals, prepayments, intercompany transactions) and reconciling balance sheetaccounts.
- Liaise with local tax authorities and compliance accountants to ensure adherence to taxlaws and company regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors to provide necessary information, resolve queries, and ensurea smooth audit process.
AP, AR, Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
- Oversee accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing, credit approvals, cashcollections, and resolving billing discrepancies.
- Manage accounts payable (AP), including vendor invoice processing, paymentapprovals, and timely payments via internet banking or other methods.
- Monitor and forecast cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and coordinate with localbanks for accounts, credit facilities, and loans.
Process Improvement & Systems Management:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain and optimize accounting systems (e.g., general ledger, timesheet systems,purchase order systems).
HK Admin & Payroll Management:
- Oversee and manage all administrative tasks related to Hong Kong operations,including office management, vendor contracts, and compliance with local labor laws.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of HK payroll, including salary calculations, taxwithholdings, MPF contributions, and other statutory requirements.
- Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and tax matters, ensuring clearand timely communication.
Maintain and update employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance withdata protection regulations.
Collaboration & Support:
- Provide financial insights and support to General Managers to aid in business strategyexecution.
- Collaborate with the CFO and Regional Finance Manager on special projects andinitiatives across the region.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/CA or equivalentpreferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a regional or multi-entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of local tax laws and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, SFDC, NetSuite) and advancedExcel skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
