As the Region Director, you will be responsible for daily operations across a designed geography consisting of multiple distribution and services facilities. You will be accountable for collaborating with business leaders across the organization to execute our enterprise and commercial strategies in order to ensure profitable growth, safe business practices, and consistent operational excellence resulting in exceptional customer service. You will be directly responsible for our daily operations, p/l management, staff operations, and alignment with our enterprise and commercial partners.
Responsibilities:
- Manages day-to-day operational activities for up to numerous distribution locations in a designed geographic area
- Works with cross functional partners to develop strategic and operational plans to achieve results and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives
- Aligns and influence’s function, product and customer segment resources to ensure objectives are aligned with business to ensure business objectives are achieved
- Conducts regular business reviews with region, district and branch leadership to ensure performance against objectives and to provide coaching, assistance and motivation to achieve objectives.
- Communicates intricate details and high-level strategies to corporate leadership team
- Ensure innovative and successful sales, operations, talent and cost saving best practices are shared and implemented across region.
- Oversees and directs creation and adherence to annual budgets at branch, district and region level; works with leaders to reduce operating costs.
- Sets goals for region, manages execution, and measures and reports results.
- Selects, manages, evaluates, and develops staff. Challenges employees, builds effective teams, develops organizational capacity, and provides staff with coaching, feedback, and development opportunities; ensures programs and activities are in place to drive increased employee engagement.
- Ensures region leadership team is developing managers who are skilled leaders, but also business managers and effective people leaders.
- Oversee development of employees in region; provides direct feedback to branch, district and region managers and sales leaders.
- Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with appropriate level representatives at supplier organizations.
- Adheres to company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures they are communicated, implemented and followed across region.
- Executes Lean daily management and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree - Business Administration or related field required; Masters Degree preferred
- Licenses/Certificates/Designations - Lean Six Sigma Designation
- 10 years professional sales and business operations experience in a related industry
- 5 years supervising and managing staff and business at branch or district level
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated competency with managing one's own time and time of others
- Excellent communication and computer skills
- Demonstrate teamwork, leadership and flexibility
- Strong analytical skills and ability to discern information and set direction based on large amounts of financial and operational reports
