Initial Rotation 


Conversion Installation Associate 

Position Summary 


As a Conversion Installation Associate, you will work alongside experienced installation and technical professionals to support customer conversion projects throughout the US.  This role provides an exceptional opportunity to learn the automotive refinish industry from the ground up by working directly with customers and participating in the installation and startup of Axalta paint systems within collision repair facilities. 


Participants will develop project management, customer service, technical, operational, and problem-solving skills while supporting high-impact business initiatives. 


This position is highly travel-intensive and intended for individuals who are excited to learn through hands-on experience and direct customer interaction. 


Learning Objectives 


Upon completion of the installation assignment, participants will gain firsthand experience supporting customer conversion projects and applying Axalta's refinish solutions in real-world environments. Through hands-on involvement, they will develop knowledge of automotive refinish products, body shop operations, project execution, equipment installation, inventory management, and customer engagement. Participants will also strengthen their ability to collaborate across teams, adapt in fast-paced environments, and apply safety and compliance standards, while building a broader understanding of the operational and business activities that drive customer success. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Support customer conversion and installation projects across North America. 
  • Assist installation leaders with planning, execution, and project completion activities. 
  • Verify receipt and inventory of delivered products and equipment. 
  • Assist with workspace preparation and site readiness activities. 
  • Assemble and install equipment, shelving, storage systems, and related components. 
  • Configure, organize, and place products according to installation standards. 
  • Assist with equipment testing and startup activities. 
  • Support installation documentation and project reporting activities. 
  • Build professional relationships with customer personnel and project stakeholders. 
  • Participate in project reviews and continuous improvement discussions. 
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment. 
  • Represent Axalta professionally at all customer locations. 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Finance, Mechanical Engineering, or similar fields or diploma.  
  • Eligibility and willingness to travel up to 100% throughout North America. 
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship (now or future). 

Preferred 

  • Valid driver's license.  
  • Willingness to relocate following successful completion of the rotational program, if required.  

The extensive travel associated with this assignment is considered an essential component of the learning experience and a requirement of participation in the program. Participants must be prepared to travel extensively for the Conversion Installation portion of the program 


Rotation Experience 


Upon successful completion of the Conversion Installation assignment, participants will transition into developmental rotations across multiple business functions.
