Snapshot of Daily Duties:

  • Receive all referrals from outside referring physicians and reviews to direct as appropriate.
  • Responsible for scheduling all clinic referrals by contacting patient and setting up clinic appt.
  • Contact referring office if needed for further information.
  • Communicate with referring physician office when patient has been scheduled or if we are unable to schedule patient.
  • Interact with clinic staff and OA dept as needed when urgent appointments are needed with no available openings.
  • Ensure patient is scheduled with appropriate provider.

The Must Haves:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous medical office experience, medical terminology coursework preferred.
  • Formal training with at least one (1) year experience as medical assistant, medical secretary, health unit coordinator, nursing assistant or similar role.
  • In lieu of formal training has at least two (2) years experience involving patient care and is able to demonstrate a familiarity with medication names and purpose, a thorough understanding of basic medical terminology, basic knowledge of common diagnoses and surgeries, and patient health interviewing skills.

 

Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
