As a Reference Data Specialist within the Client Documentation team, you will be accountable for checking and supervising client documentation across products such as loans, payments, and markets. You will help strengthen controls, raise quality standards, and deliver clear feedback that improves accuracy and service excellence. You will also contribute to operational improvement initiatives and the adoption of new tools to enhance end-to-end processes.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Execute assigned quality-check tasks on client documentation with minimal supervision and timely completion
  • Establish subject matter expertise within the quality-checking function and contribute to consistent checking standards
  • Detect documentation errors quickly and deliver clear oral and written feedback to document preparers
  • Perform root cause analysis on defects and translate findings into themes that improve accuracy and reduce rework
  • Apply a strong control mindset to surface issues and risks that could impact the process or the organization
  • Use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Alteryx to analyze data, document outcomes, and support reporting
  • Generate ideas for process improvement and automation, including supporting the integration of new tools
  • Support daily regulatory reporting tasks and remediation activities when required
  • Interpret documentation metadata and coordinate with Legal partners when needed to resolve questions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Product, Sales, relationship managers, and client service, to resolve documentation needs
  • Escalate and track issues through to resolution, recommending actions that improve controls, efficiency, and the client experience, and maintaining up-to-date procedures

 

Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

 

  • Demonstrate 4+ years of experience in investment banking operations or client documentation
  • Apply knowledge of banking products and associated documentation, including a broad understanding of legal terms and principles
  • Analyze information from multiple sources, determine relevancy to specific issues, and route items to appropriate business partners
  • Resolve problems by independently identifying issues, evaluating impacts, and proposing viable solutions
  • Communicate effectively through clear verbal and written interactions across stakeholders and management levels
  • Prioritize workflow under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Collaborate in both independent and team-based environments to deliver consistent service excellence
  • Exhibit strategic thinking, results orientation, and self-motivation in a changing environment
  • Adapt to new skills and tools to support evolving processes and operational needs
  • Coordinate effectively with geographically distributed work groups
  • Complete a university degree

 

Preferred qualifications, skills, and capabilities:

 

  • Hold a Law or Commerce degree
  • Demonstrate exposure to AI-enabled tools and willingness to adopt emerging technologies that support process improvement and operational excellence
  • Maintain flexibility to support business coverage needs aligned to operational requirements
  • Contribute experience participating in documentation operational improvement projects and new tool integration
