Purpose of this job
This role is central to the development of the Red Bull brand growth ambitions within the Irish market. The job holder will co-ordinate and project manage all trade-led marketing activities.
The Head of Strategy and Planning is responsible for the development and coordination of the sales, trade marketing & insights teams, to deliver the Red Bull growth strategy whilst maintaining the brand personality & values.
This successful candidate will bring strong leadership skills to deliver all means of communication (internal, trade & shopper), coordinate effectively between marketing and sales & oversee the POS development and implementation. They will work cross functionally to lead the execution of the market plan via Key Accounts and Field Sales teams, champion sales analysis to generate insight and deliver Category Management projects.
Key responsibilities
Strategy and Planning
- Support the Off Premise Manager to create the strategic vision for the short- and long-term growth in the market.
- Translating the global business strategy to the local market, and ensuring execution of same.
Trade Marketing Knowledge & Capability
- Develop trade marketing strategies, utilizing trade and marketing experience to recommend best trade-led activities.
- Recommend and support trade activity proposals with commercial backing, pushing the brand guidelines whilst protecting the brand image.
- Create and develop all channels of communication that contribute to the timely execution of Red Bull initiatives at internal, trade or shopper level.
- Ownership of internal KPIs to support brand growth strategy.
Business Insights
- Identify, develop, and implement necessary processes to enhance sales business performance within areas of:
- Revenue Growth Management
- Insights - ensuring the latest market trends and data are used to quantify and prioritise both challenges and opportunities with a growth mindset.
- Sales development analysis (by customer, by channel, by distribution point, etc.) to develop and measure specific strategies and KPIs.
Alignment and Coordination of Sales and Marketing Activities to deliver Annual Business Plan
- Educate, orientate, and utilize the brand team to deliver through the line activity in store.
- Ensure Sales and Marketing are working hand in hand.
- Delivering Perfect Store across the Off Premise customer base ensuring Red Bull looks and acts like #1 in store.
- Support the alignment across customers and channels for all trade marketing activities.
Category Management
- Oversee Category Management projects.
Point of Contact for Reporting to International Off Premise Trade Team
- Ensure national team is regarded as ‘best in class’ by international team.
- Manage all the international requests of data sharing and international tool’s local implementation.
- Implementation of global tools (for in-store material creation, for elaboration of planograms, for evaluation of promotion efficiency…).
Experience needed
The candidate for the role should ideally have minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
The candidate should;
- Be hard-working, passionate and a reliable team player, with a growth mindset.
- Have clear understanding of markets, sales & distribution, competitor activity, consumer & shopper behaviour, category management & business insights in FMCG context
- Have strong analytical ability and commercial acumen to understand financial statements and market trends
- Be strategic thinking and be able to lead the sales strategy
Education requirements
University Degree (business, marketing or similar)
Language requirements
Fluent in written and spoken English
*This is an 11 month maternity cover contract position.
