POSITION SUMMARY:

The Recycle Coordinator is responsible for handling and scheduling pick up of all recyclable materials produced by the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collects loose cardboard, operating compactors, reporting equipment maintenance issues, and coordinating pick-up of containers.
  • Collects shrink wrap, baling, reporting maintenance issues of the baler, coordinating pick-up, and loading the product.
  • Accounts for pallets leaving the building, managing vendor door access, and record keeping.
  • Inventories and weighs the brass and lead received from retail stores, coordinating pick-up, loading the material, and maintaining accurate records as product leaves the building.
  • Collects metal waste and coordinating pick-up.
  • Collects and separates co-mingle as well as coordinating pick-up of the material.
  • Collects trash and smoker ashes, operating compactor, reporting maintenance issues of equipment, streamlining land field waste, and coordinating container pick-up.
  • Collects office and mixed paper, coordinating pick-up, and loading the materials.
  • Inventories and packages lamps, coordinates pickup, and keeps accurate record of material leaving the facility.
  • Handles, separates, and coordinates pick-up of re-usable items transferred to Habitat for Humanity or other agencies.
  • Performs occasional janitorial duties.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required:    High School Diploma or Equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Must be able to be machine certified
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving skills
  • Time management skills

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly walks, stands and lifts up to 50lbs.
  • Seldom/never sits or performs computer work.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
