Position Summary
The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for meeting the hiring goals of CoServ by filling open positions with talented, qualified individuals. This position will work closely with leadership to ensure that we are sourcing and screening for candidates that meet their needs.
Responsibilities
Primary Position Responsibilities
- Partners with hiring manager to thoroughly understand staffing needs, desired skills and abilities to ensure successful screening of applicants.
- Reviews job descriptions for all openings and ensures they align with hiring manager’s needs.
- Reviews applications and dispositions appropriately in a timely manner.
- Manages the overall recruiting process to ensure that positions are filled in a timely manner and takes proactive steps if needs are not being met.
- Manages the relationship between CoServ and staffing agencies that assist in sourcing candidates.
- Keeps the Employee Experience Specialist aware of current openings, types of applications being seen and positions that need additional attention for recruiting purposes.
- Works with hiring manager to plan for the interview and attends interviews to assist in the evaluation of the candidate.
- Communicates with hiring managers regularly to keep them informed of the recruitment process.
- Manages candidate communication and experience throughout the recruiting process to ensure a positive experience.
- Works alongside hiring managers to evaluate offers to ensure CoServ standards are met.
- Partners with Employee Experience Specialist to ensure a seamless transition for candidates that have accepted a position.
- Evaluates new ways to improve the recruiting process, candidate experience, interviews, and quality of candidates.
- Tracks applications, recording what source is providing quality candidates for the different types of positions and recommend adjustments to recruiting plan, as needed.
- Stays current on CoServ’s organizational structure, personnel policies, and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
- Complies with established CoServ safety and operating rules, procedures and guidelines including reporting unsafe practices to a supervisor.
- Complies with established CoServ Information Security Handbook, policies, procedures, and guidelines including reporting suspected information security incidents to Tech Support.
Secondary Position Responsibilities
- Proactively sources potential candidates via LinkedIn, Indeed, etc. as needed.
- Ensures recruiting platforms (CoServ.com/Careers, Indeed, etc.) stay up to date.
- Schedules interviews as needed.
- Provides feedback to internal candidates on interview as requested
- Performs other duties and activities as directed.
Position Requirements
Education, Experience, and Certifications Required
- High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalency.
- Bachelor’s degree in in Human Resources Management or other related field or 5 years business experience
- Seven (7) years of experience in Human Resources
- Experience in interpretation and application of HR laws
Education, Experience, and Certifications Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or other related field.
- PHR or SHRM-CP
- Five (5) years of experience in managing the recruiting process.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to evaluate candidates to meet needs for the position.
- Ability to ask additional questions when needed during an interview.
- Excellent human relations and communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have strong grammar skills.
- Must understand the confidentiality required for this position.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrate competencies of leadership skills – planning, coordinating, directing, listening and communication.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must possess personal computer skills and be proficient in Office 365 products including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
- Ability to work as a team player
- Ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed or directed.
Skills and Abilities Preferred
- Knowledge of the cooperative business model.
Physical Requirements
- Operates office equipment such as a computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.
- Indoor, office environment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
- Ability to drive occasionally as needed.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Other Requirements
- Travels to conferences and other office sites.
- Must have and maintain a valid Texas driver's license
