Job Summary

The Locums Physician Recruiter is a sales-driven recruiting professional responsible for sourcing, closing, and placing physicians into temporary locum tenens assignments nationwide. This role operates in a high-volume agency environment and is ideal for individuals who thrive in performance-based, KPI-driven roles with clear expectations tied to activity, placements, and revenue impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, qualify, and close locum tenens physicians across multiple specialties to meet urgent and ongoing client coverage needs

  • Own full-cycle locums recruiting with a sales execution mindset, from outbound sourcing through placement

  • Consistently meet or exceed individual KPIs and productivity metrics, including calls, submittals, interviews, and placements

  • Proactively source physicians using Boolean search techniques, ATS/CRM tools, referrals, and outbound sales-style outreach

  • Effectively sell locums opportunities to physicians by aligning assignment details with availability, pay expectations, and lifestyle preferences

  • Build and maintain a strong physician pipeline to support repeat placements and long-term revenue generation

  • Partner closely with account managers, credentialing, licensing, and travel teams to ensure fast, efficient placements

  • Accurately track activity, pipeline health, and conversion metrics in ATS/CRM systems

  • Navigate physician objections related to schedule, location, compensation, and competing opportunities

  • Operate with urgency and discipline in a metrics-based, quota-driven environment

Sales and Performance Expectations:

  • Driven by measurable KPIs including:

    • Daily and weekly activity such as calls, outreach, and submissions

    • Interview-to-placement conversion rates

    • Assignment fill rate and physician redeployments

  • Ability to manage a full desk with multiple active physicians and assignments

  • Strong time management and prioritization in a fast-paced production environment

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of agency recruiting or sales experience

  • Demonstrated success in quota-based or performance-driven roles

  • Strong closing skills with the ability to influence physician decision-making

  • Experience managing high-volume requisitions and competing priorities

  • Comfort with outbound calling and consultative selling

  • Working knowledge of locum tenens workflows, credentialing timelines, and compliance requirements

  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior locums tenens agency experience

  • Healthcare staffing, physician staffing, or adjacent B2B sales background

  • Familiarity with physician licensure, credentialing processes, and time-sensitive coverage needs

Pay Rate$19.50 - $24.25 Hourly

Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.

This position may include additional compensation such as bonus or commission.  Please ask your recruiter for more information.
