Essential Functions
- Initiate contact with prospective students.
- Give prospective students and families information about the admissions and enrollment process, including, but not limited to, information on MC programs, application, testing requirements, transcripts, immunization, FAFSA, and scholarships.
- Work with the Director to develop and implement effective student-centered outreach and recruitment plans that reflect the College’s Mission and Strategic Plan
- Attend events and implement outreach efforts including but not limited to service area high schools, TACRAO, community events
- Coordinate all campus tours- individual, groups, schools
- Coordinate all student recruitment, on and off-campus
- Maintain a demeanor of service, professionalism, and positivity at all times
- Strive to meet enrollment goals, conversion rates, and target number of applications submitted
- Participate and contribute to a creative, dynamic, and productive team culture that delivers excellent customer service and personal attention to potential students
- Participate in professional development appropriate to the functions of the position and professional interests
- Be well informed on all MC programs and offerings, including university partnerships (general brochure plus campus buildings academics, CE)
- Establish and maintain relationships with service area school districts, fostering strong relationships between the college and area high school counselors
- Establish and maintain relationships with local industry partners and nonprofits; fostering strong relationships between the College and community members
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the College and attend College events and meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; or Associate’s Degree (or equivalent – 60 college credit hours) and a minimum of two years of relevant administrative experience that includes demonstrated work experience with detail-oriented tasks of a significant nature
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the College’s mission and the needs of students; a passion for helping students realize their educational goals
- Demonstrated ability to use appropriate technology in the outreach and recruitment process
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as business needs dictate
- Ability to take feedback from manager through coaching sessions and then generate positive results
- Exemplary computer proficiency, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong public relations skills; demonstrated interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Customer-service oriented
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous higher education student services experience
- Previous experience in outreach and recruitment
- Two years of closely related experience
- Bilingual language skills
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods
- This position will require travel for training, meetings, and events both in and out of town
- Frequently moves items up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree with two years of administrative experience
- Ability to use appropriate technology
- Strong public relations skills
- Valid Texas Driver's License
