About us:
We are a creative entertainment company based in Sydney. We make IP-driven products that fans love, spanning animation, consumer products, supply chain, publishing, games and licensing. We have around 250 people across multiple divisions, each doing genuinely different work, and we are growing.
With multiple active and upcoming series, tens of millions of views per release, and a rapidly growing audience base, Glitch operates at the intersection of storytelling, digital media, and creator-led entertainment.
Role Information:
Glitch Productions is looking for an experienced, adaptable Contract Recruiter to own full-cycle recruitment across our art, animation and games disciplines. We're a small People and Culture team supporting a growing, globally distributed studio, and this role is critical to keeping our pipeline of full-time, freelance and contract talent moving. This role will report into the Global Head of People and Culture.
You'll manage a high volume of concurrent global roles, help shape how candidates experience Glitch from first contact to offer, and bring fresh thinking on how we can make our hiring faster and sharper, without losing the personal touch that makes Glitch, Glitch.
Your duties will include:
Full-Cycle Recruitment
- Own end-to-end recruitment (sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offer management) for full-time, freelance and contract roles across animation, tech and game production.
- Partnering with hiring managers and department leads to scope roles, define requirements, and build realistic hiring plans and timelines.
- Manage a high volume of concurrent open roles across multiple departments and seniority levels, prioritising based on production need.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines and freelance benches for recurring specialist roles (e.g. background artists, riggers, animators, compositors, voice-over talent) so we can move quickly on repeat hiring needs.
- Lead salary and package negotiations with candidates, and conduct salary benchmarking to ensure offers are competitive and market-aligned.
Global & Contract Hiring
- Lead recruitment for roles spanning multiple countries and time zones, adapting sourcing strategy and interview scheduling accordingly.
- Maintain working knowledge of contractor classification and engagement norms in key hiring markets, and coordinate with payroll, legal and Employer of Record (EOR) partners as needed to keep global hiring compliant.
- Manage relationships with the external recruitment agencies we partner with, briefing roles, setting clear expectations, and holding them accountable for quality and turnaround.
- Tailor recruitment approach to the mix of freelance, fixed-term contract and full-time hiring across the studio, understanding what each engagement type requires.
Employer Value Proposition (EVP)
- Partner with the People team to define and continually sharpen Glitch's Employer Value Proposition for both global full-time and freelance/contract audiences.
- Ensure job postings, candidate messaging and interview experience consistently reflect Glitch's culture, values and brand.
- Bring market insight on what talent in animation, art and gaming values most, and feed that back into how we position roles and the studio.
Data, Reporting & Collaboration
- Keep candidate and requisition data accurate and current in our ATS.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to our recruiting tech stack (ATS, sourcing tools, scheduling) with an eye toward efficiency and candidate experience.
- Report on recruitment metrics (time to fill, pipeline health, source effectiveness, offer acceptance) to the Head of People and hiring managers.
- Collaborate with the People team on structured interview guides, scorecards and interviewer training to keep hiring consistent and fair.
Automation
- Identify and implement automation across recruitment workflows, from scheduling and candidate communications to screening and offer generation, to speed up time-to-fill and cut manual admin.
- Build automated, repeatable processes for high-volume and recurring hiring needs (templated outreach sequences, automated screening questions, scheduling workflows) without losing the personal touch that makes Glitch, Glitch.
- Recommend and help roll out automation tools within our ATS and wider recruitment tech stack.
A successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a full-cycle recruiter, ideally within animation, VFX, gaming or a related creative/entertainment industry.
- Experience recruiting both freelance/contract and full-time talent, and an understanding of how those hiring processes differ.
- Familiarity with ATS platforms (we use JazzHR) and general recruitment tech.
- Hands-on experience using or implementing AI/automation tools in a recruitment workflow to create efficiencies.
- Experience benchmarking salaries for roles to inform competitive, market-aligned offers.
- Experience using DocuSign or similar e-signature platforms to manage contracts.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable working closely with creative leads and department heads.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent roles without things slipping.
Bonus Skills:
- An existing network of freelance talent in animation and/or gaming.
- Experience recruiting for niche technical/art roles (e.g. riggers, look development artists, Unreal Engine specialists).
What we offer:
- A chance to shape the growth of a swiftly growing company.
- A flexible, fully remote 6-month contract, with the potential to extend or convert to a permanent role based on studio needs.
- Real scope to shape recruitment, EVP and hiring process at a fast-growing, globally recognised indie studio.
- A small, close-knit People team where your input directly shapes how we hire.
- Exposure to cutting-edge animation and game production pipelines and the people who build them.
- A diverse team that values independent input and career development.
