We're seeking an experienced Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition team and lead full-cycle recruiting across a variety of corporate and business roles. You'll partner with hiring managers to develop hiring strategies, attract exceptional talent, deliver an outstanding candidate experience, and advance inclusive hiring practices. You'll also help strengthen our employer brand and improve recruiting processes.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Full-Cycle Recruiting  

  • Lead the full-cycle recruiting process for assigned positions, including intake meetings, recruiting strategy development, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer development, and offer negotiation.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, define success profiles, establish recruitment strategies, and provide guidance throughout the hiring process.
  • Source and engage qualified candidates through a variety of channels, including LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, professional networks, employee referrals, and direct outreach.
  • Conduct candidate screenings and interviews while assessing technical qualifications, competencies, and alignment with organizational values.
  • Manage candidate communication throughout the hiring process, ensuring an exceptional, transparent, and engaging candidate experience.
  • Develop equitable hiring practices by implementing structured interviews, competency-based evaluation tools, and consistent selection processes.
  • Build and maintain diverse talent pipelines to support current and future hiring needs while advancing Macmillan Learning's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop competitive and equitable compensation recommendations in partnership with Human Resources.

Talent Strategy & Process Improvement

  • Recommend and implement improvements to recruiting processes, workflows, tools, and documentation that increase efficiency, consistency, and hiring effectiveness.
  • Develop recruiting resources, interview guides, hiring manager training, and other educational materials that support consistent hiring practices.
  • Partner with Human Resources leadership and the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to support strategic recruiting initiatives, establish recruiting metrics, and strengthen diverse sourcing partnerships.
  • Analyze recruiting data and key performance indicators to identify trends, opportunities, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Employer Branding & Talent Engagement

  • Represent Macmillan Learning at career fairs, networking events, virtual recruiting events, and professional organizations to build awareness and attract top talent.
  • Develop relationships with universities, professional associations, community organizations, and diverse talent networks to expand candidate pipelines.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with external recruiting agencies, sourcing partners, job boards, and recruiting technology vendors.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and recommend new partnerships or solutions that improve recruiting effectiveness and candidate quality.
  • Build trusted relationships with hiring managers, HR partners, and business leaders by providing timely communication, market insights, and strategic recruiting guidance

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in full-cycle talent acquisition or recruiting.
  • Demonstrated experience developing recruiting strategies and managing multiple concurrent searches across various business functions.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and follow-up skills with the ability to prioritize competing priorities.
  • Experience implementing recruiting process improvements and driving operational excellence.
  • Experience working successfully within a remote or distributed team environment.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of an organization.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
    Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience developing and implementing diversity recruiting strategies.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience recruiting within education, publishing, technology, or other mission-driven organizations.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn Recruiter, and modern sourcing tools.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered recruiting and productivity tools to streamline sourcing, candidate engagement, documentation, research, or administrative workflows while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and data privacy.

Salary: $65,000 - $95,000/ year.

Exemption status: Exempt

Physical Requirements: 

Requires periods of close concentration. The employee must be able to multitask, must be able to sit for long periods, must be able to concentrate in a noisy/busy environment. 

The position is eligible for remote employment, excluding the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming.
