Job Description
Ingram Barge Company is seeking a Recruiter, focused on marine role hiring, to join the Operations team in our Paducah, KY location. In this position you’ll be responsible for full cycle recruiting, meaning, you are empowered to source, interview, make hiring decisions, and see your candidates through to their first day of Orientation. A team player at heart, the successful Recruiter will demonstrate robust communication skills and collaborate with leaders’ company-wide to achieve staffing objectives to keep our vessels fully staffed.
What you will be doing:
- Maintaining organizational job postings and advertisements
- Sourcing marine candidates through various methods including social media
- Screening high volume applications and resumes
- Assessing candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and aptitude by interviewing in person and virtually
- Extending job offers on the spot and informing candidates of offer details, employment requirements, etc.
- Facilitating or assisting with facilitation of drug screens, background checks, and pre-employment physicals
- Facilitating interview events in various locations along the waterways in which Ingram operates
- Managing candidates through post offer process by continuous communication, and consistent, accurate data entry
- Consistently providing status updates to candidates and hiring managers
- Onboarding new associates for New Hire Orientation
- Representing Ingram (sometimes independently) at career fairs and career exploration events (schools, industry events, etc.)
- Supporting department activities with regular and prompt attendance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated approach to achieving staffing goals
- Recruiting experience preferred
- Marine industry experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Keen attention to detail
- Intermediate skills with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel and other online tools/systems/databases
- Understanding of employment law as it relates to recruiting a plus
- Ability to travel ~10%, to include overnight
- Ability to handle high volume calls and work
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
