As an IT Recruiter in our Talent Acquisition team, you won’t just fill vacancies — you’ll build careers, influence hiring strategies, and develop your own expertise in one of the most dynamic industries in the country. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager / HR Manager, you’ll have the support, autonomy, and visibility to grow into a true specialist.

You’ll own the full recruitment lifecycle for exciting IT roles — from software developers and data scientists to cybersecurity specialists and cloud architects:

•        Source & attract top IT talent through creative strategies, LinkedIn, GitHub, networking, and referrals — including passive candidates who aren’t actively job hunting.

•        Partner closely with hiring managers and clients to understand technical needs and craft compelling job opportunities.

•        Screen CVs, conduct initial interviews, coordinate technical assessments, and manage offers with confidence and care.

•        Build lasting relationships with candidates and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and brand ambassador.

•        Share market insights on skills demand, salary trends, and recruitment best practice in the South African IT sector.

•        Maintain accurate records, deliver recruitment metrics, and ensure full compliance with South African labour laws (including Employment Equity and POPIA).

We’re looking for someone who is ready to step up — not just clock in. The ideal person brings:

•        Excellent proactive and organised skills — you anticipate needs, plan ahead, manage multiple priorities with ease, and keep processes running smoothly without being asked.

•        Outstanding ability to communicate with people at all levels — from junior candidates to C-suite stakeholders, you build rapport quickly, listen actively, and influence with clarity and confidence.

•        A results-driven mindset with a track record in inbound and outbound sales or business development, strong telephone skills, and natural negotiation ability.

•        Resilience under pressure, personal drive, and the hunger to put in the hard work required to hit (and exceed) targets.

•        Genuine curiosity about technology and a willingness to quickly learn emerging skills (Python, AWS, DevOps, and beyond).

•        Empathy and the ability to guide candidates through important career decisions with professionalism and integrity.

•        Comfort with sourcing techniques (Boolean & X-ray searches), assessing technical CVs, and using Microsoft Office and recruitment tools.

In this role you’ll develop deep expertise in the South African IT job market, expand your professional network, and gain exposure to both agency-style client work and high-impact placements. You’ll be measured on meaningful outcomes — time-to-hire, quality of hire, and relationship strength — while building a reputation as someone who gets things done with energy and integrity.

This is a permanent, office-based role in Pietermaritzburg with standard hours and the flexibility to support candidate availability when needed. Compensation is market-related (basic salary plus commission), reflecting both your experience and your results.
