Recovery Supervisor

 

A Day in Life:

 

The Subrogation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the people, processes, and performance associated with the reporting, intake, and processing of claims from field locations and third parties. This role ensures claims are accurately documented, appropriately routed to the Liability team or the Central Recovery Unit (CRU) when subrogation opportunities exist, and handled in accordance with established procedures and timelines.

 

The Subrogation Supervisor is accountable for ensuring incidents are reported accurately and promptly; claims are reviewed, opened, and assigned for the appropriate handling; and damage costs, liability determinations, and recovery opportunities are properly documented and pursued. This role also oversees customer communications, including obtaining supporting documentation, maintaining written correspondence, and ensuring a high level of service throughout the claims process. The supervisor partners with internal stakeholders to drive consistency, compliance, operational efficiency, and successful claim resolution.

 

We expect the starting salary to be around $55,000, commensurate of experience. This role is hybrid in Oklahoma City, OK.

 

What Will You Do:

• Ensure the quality and accuracy of data entered into Case Manager/FileNet. 
• Manage the handling of first-party claims to ensure all subrogation opportunities are identified and referred to the Central Recovery Unit (CRU) within established deadlines. 
• Oversee the identification of third-party claims and ensure timely referral to the Liability team in accordance with established procedures. 
• Supervise the collection team to ensure performance targets are met and appropriate support and guidance are provided. 
• Establish and maintain a formal communication process with Hertz locations to provide feedback on the quality and timeliness of FNOL notifications and other critical issues. 
• Perform other duties, projects, and ad hoc assignments as required. 
• Manage team workflows and workloads to maximize efficiency, productivity, and service levels. 
• Establish team and individual performance goals, monitor progress, and provide coaching and feedback to ensure desired business and employee outcomes are achieved. 
• Monitor attendance, vacation time, sick leave, and employee-related matters to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and HR guidelines. 
• Oversee a self-audit program to monitor compliance with procedures, quality standards, and customer service expectations.

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor Degree in Business and/or equivalent work experience
• Insurance, collections, or recovery experience required.
• Strong leadership, people management, negotiation, and professionalism skills.
• Knowledge of auto damage insurance principles and processes preferred.
• Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and applicable collection regulations.
• Understanding of state statutes and regulations related to collections and claims handling.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
• Strong process improvement and operational excellence mindset.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
