About the opportunity

An opportunity to join a multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Team providing support to consumers experiencing mental illness, their families and referring agencies. The chance to be a part of the welcoming, friendly and highly skilled team at the Wyndham Clinic, Hoppers Crossing. We are passionate about providing an accessible high-quality service to the rapid growing, diverse community we serve.

  • Part Time – Permanent Role
  • Provide quality and high-level mental health assessments, formulations and recommendations for clients that have been referred.
  • Offer consultation to referring teams and recommend appropriate service linkages
  • Attend regular multidisciplinary clinical reviews to discuss referrals escalate challenging situations as appropriate

Additional expectation about the role:

  • Possess critical skills set in providing assessment and monitoring of patients' physical and mental state and confidence in putting relapse management plans and safely managing a deteriorating consumer
  • Provide highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers in times of need.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and the confidence to advocate for clients as and when required
  • Be available to offer clinical supervision to junior staff members when required.
  • Possess exceptional judgement skills which will support the prioritization of referrals.

  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.

Skills Required
