Savan Group is seeking a RIM Trainer to serve as a team role supporting the design and implementation of a federal client’s records management training needs. To be successful in this position, you should have working knowledge of developing or updating records management policies, procedures and artifacts. You will be expected to clearly communicate records management compliance requirements and best practices related to paper and electronic records settings. You should also be able to assemble training curriculum and coordinate with developers to create Computer Based Training (CBT) materials.
Role Responsibilities:
- Understand and distill records management activities into easy-to-understand concepts and tasks
- Maintain a detailed understanding of records management program priorities, special projects, and ongoing records lifecycle support activities (inventory, file plan, and schedule updates; disposition; paper management and records management application activities)
- Assist implementation of recordkeeping guidance in support of agency strategic plan and in accordance with the Federal Records Act, NARA guidelines, industry trends, and professional RIM standards
- Design and develop records management training materials including creating learning objectives, developing subject-specific curriculum, and creating training manuals
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify training needs and ensure training content is accurate and up to date
- Deliver training in various formats such as classroom-based instruction, e-learning, virtual instructor-led training, or on-the-job training.
- Manage administrative tasks related to the training program such as tracking attendance, managing training records, and reporting on the effectiveness of the training program.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Industry-recognized records management credential such as a Certified Records Manager (CRM)
- 10 years’ records management experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications:
- Detailed understanding of Federal records management laws, regulations, and practices
- Ability to translate complex requirements into clear instructions
- Experience applying or maintaining records inventories, file plans, or records schedules
- Ability to quickly analyze and understand key business processes and artifacts
- Strong and consistent business writing
- Foundational understanding of CBT tools including formatting content uploads according to tool requirements
