Record to Report Specialist

• Record to Report (R2R) Operations: Oversee all aspects of the Record to Report cycle, ensuring timely and accurate execution of general ledger accounting, journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, fixed asset management, and the preparation of financial statements. Guarantee that all closing activities adhere to strict month-end, quarter-end, and year-end timetables and meet the client’s reporting requirements.
• Service Delivery: Lead the management of accounting records and support the preparation and consolidation of financial reports. Supervise account reconciliations, balance sheet substantiations, and variance analysis while upholding the integrity of all financial data.
• Team Leadership: Provide direction, mentorship, and support to a team of more than 20 professionals. Assign responsibilities, monitor progress, review outputs, and help nurture the skills of junior team members through ongoing training and support.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Participate actively in governance meetings and collaborate on process improvements, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Compliance and Controls: Uphold compliance with statutory requirements, internal controls, and accounting standards. Challenge and advise stakeholders on regulatory and operational issues to ensure all practices meet audit and compliance expectations.
• Reporting and Audit Support: Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and ad-hoc financial reports. Facilitate internal and external audits by providing required documentation, addressing queries, and supporting the audit process from start to finish.
• Problem Solving: Guide the team in resolving complex accounting issues, particularly around reconciliations and close activities.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, with a strong background in Record to Report processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Deep understanding of accounting principles, standards, and relevant statutory requirements.
• Fluency in both English and French.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and ensure consistent service delivery.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with senior management.
• Exceptional people management and interpersonal skills, particularly in multicultural and cross-functional contexts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Self-motivated, independent, and committed to high personal integrity.
• Good grasp of local business practices and regulatory climate.
