Job Description

Step into the heart of a leading City law firm and become the face of an exceptional Front of House experience. Portico is looking for a warm, polished, and proactive Receptionist who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment and takes pride in delivering service that feels effortless, personal, and consistently five-star.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be the first impression, and the lasting one. Your day will include:

  • Delivering a warm, professional welcome to all visitors and clients
  • Managing a busy reception desk and switchboard with confidence and charm
  • Coordinating meeting room bookings, changes, and queries with precision
  • Ensuring all visitors are pre-registered for seamless entry
  • Liaising with internal teams (Catering, Facilities, IT, Cleaning, Ground Floor Reception) to keep operations running smoothly
  • Providing basic AV support when needed
  • Keeping client areas immaculate through regular checks
  • Handling enquiries, offering accurate information, and keeping guests informed
  • Supporting colleagues, coaching new starters, and contributing to a positive team culture
  • Maintaining strict security awareness and adhering to Portico’s grooming and service standards
  • Completing daily handovers, monthly statistics, and reporting maintenance issues
  • This is a role for someone who loves people, thrives on organisation, and takes ownership of every detail.

Hours: 40h per week, shifts between 8:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility to work evening shifts to cover events is required.
Salary: £34,420 Per annum

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For
You’ll shine in this role if you are:

  • A natural host with a genuine passion for people
  • Experienced in customer-facing roles (corporate reception experience is a bonus)
  • Immaculately presented with excellent verbal and written communication
  • Confident managing switchboards, room bookings, and guest flow
  • Calm under pressure and able to juggle multiple tasks
  • Detail-driven, organised, and proactive
  • Warm, friendly, and able to build rapport effortlessly
  • A team player with common sense, flexibility, and a can-do attitude
  • Familiar with AV support and room reservation systems (desirable)
