Description
SUMMARY:
Represents the residence in a professional, pleasant, courteous and accommodating manner to the community and general public. Responsible for respectfully meeting and greeting all visitors to the residence and directing them to the appropriate person/ area. Directs all incoming telephone calls to the appropriate party, and performs other clerical duties such as filing, typing, mail sorting, etc.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of the Receptionist include but are not limited to the following:
1.Perform all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude.
2.Handle incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner and directs themaccordingly.
3.Greet guests and visitors in a professional and courteous manner and directs them accordingly.
4.File correspondence.
5.Sort mail.
6.Assure the menus are properly posted.
7.Assure the bulletin boards do not contain out-dated materials.
8.Type correspondence as needed.
9.Coordinate front desk activities.
10.Maintain the front desk in a neat and orderly manner.
11.Respond to emergency situations by contacting appropriate party; 911, fire department, police, etc.
12.Attend required in-service training sessions and orientations.
13.Respond to resident’s needs.

Requirements
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
a.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have knowledge of basic telephone reception systemsand techniques. The ability to handle all incoming telephone calls and visitors in a pleasant andcourteous manner, provide clerical support and represent the residence in a professionalmanner. The ability to respond calmly to emergency situations is essential. The ability tocommunicate in English both orally and in writing is essential. May require some lifting,bending, stretching and stooping.
b.Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
c.Experience: Requires six months to one-year prior reception experience in an officeenvironment. Typing or word processing experience is preferred.
d.Certificates/ Licenses: None required.
