The Receptionist is responsible for the following:
- Helps, guidance and direction to visitors, residents, and staff.
- Give dialing instructions when necessary.
- Records all long-distance calls.
- Make every effort to see that all calls reach the proper party.
- Page's appropriate part when necessary.
- Takes messages for those she/he is unable to reach.
- Reports all malfunctioning switchboard equipment promptly to telephone repair and supervisor and keeps records of “whom” and “when” it was reported and when problem cleared.
- Responds to emergency calls following established protocols.
- Assists in maintenance and care of department equipment and supplies.
- Learns and follows assigned safety, security and fire procedures.
- Reports any accidents and dangerous situations immediately.
- Maintains confidentiality of organizational and resident information.
- Performs other related duties assigned.
- Maintains required records and statistics as directed.
- Notifies mail room clerk of deliveries to be made within the home.
- Distributes daily papers to residents (also, cancel orders when requested, or when resident goes to the hospital).
- Fulfills role of mail room clerk as needed.
- Maintain an in/out sheet for sisters, staff, residents hospitalized, etc.
- Accept clothes from outside cleaners for pick-up and return.
- Keep records of all visitors to the home, name of residents, room, etc. and detain, when possible, any resident leaving home who should not. Calls for security as needed.
- Assist other employees where needed.
- Responsible and cooperative with supervisors, fellow employees, residents, and families.
- Maintains a friendly working atmosphere.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
- Provides assistance with resident care where applicable.
Formal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Must Speak Spanish
Experience: 6 months
Pay Range$19.00 Per Hour
