SHIPPING SPECIALIST - 3 Month Contract to Hire, on site in San Carlos, CA
- Description:
- Under direct supervision handles daily receipt of merchandise received from vendor trucks by performing the following duties.
- Examines shipment for defects and shortages against receiving documents.
- Records factors causing goods to be returned.
- Unloads and moves incoming shipments to storage.
- Forwards approved receiving documents to the appropriate department for processing.
- Schedule is Mon - Friday, 8am-430pm; Hourly rate is $23
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One-year certificate from college or a technical school is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent math skills, utilizing sound judgment and reasoning capabilities to resolve problems.
- Effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate, both orally and written, in a professional manner.
- Good computer skills to complete warehousing transactions with the ability to operate effectively within multiple software applications and inventory systems.
- Experience in utilizing ERP software, preferably Oracle Cloud
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to use manual and electric pallet jack.
The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
