SUMMARY 
Counts, measures, or weighs articles to verify contents of shipments against bills of lading, receiving documents, or storage receipts by performing the following duties. Leads the receiving clerks under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Offloads inbound receipts manually or using motorized equipment.

Unloads and unpacks incoming shipments.

Examines articles for defects and sorts articles according to extent of defect.

Completes non-conformances and delivers documents to appropriate department or person.

Attaches identification data onto article.

Updates company ERP system to reflect receipt of inventory.

Studies and recommends standardizing procedures to improve efficiency.

Reports errors and complaints.

Records factors causing goods to be returned.

Labels product with inventory labels if inventory item.

Delivers goods to appropriate area or person.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.

REASONING ABILITY 
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
