Receivables Account Specialist

A Day in Life:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist manages all aspects of an assigned portfolio of accounts, from billing through payment resolution, including obtaining firm payment commitments while maintaining strong customer relationships. This role works closely with the Hertz Sales team to address sensitive account issues, such as potential service suspensions due to non-payment, and follows established processes to manage both current and delinquent accounts while preserving customer loyalty.

The ideal candidate can identify accounts experiencing cash flow challenges to minimize revenue risk and effectively communicate with customers to secure timely payment and resolve outstanding issues.

This position is based in Oklahoma City.  The starting rate for this position is $17 per hour.

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct account research and analysis to support timely payment resolution. 
• Develop and execute structured account review and collection strategies. 
• Meet or exceed assigned monthly and quarterly cash collection and call volume goals. 
• Maintain accurate aging reports and account records. 
• Process and reconcile necessary accounts receivable adjustments. 
• Partner with internal and external customers to resolve outstanding issues. 
• Identify and address root causes of payment delays to improve collections performance. 
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of collection activities. 
• Provide regular updates on past-due accounts and aging trends. 
• Collaborate with Hertz Sales Representatives on customer payment performance and collection strategies. 
• Escalate accounts exhibiting signs of financial risk or instability. 
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and prevent future issues. 
• Investigate and respond to customer inquiries within 24 hours to ensure excellent customer service.

What We’re Looking For: 

• 3+ years of relevant experience preferred. 
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred. 
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and basic formulas. 
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
• Strong customer service and phone communication experience. 
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
• Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively. 
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
• Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and results-driven mindset. 
• Able to work independently and perform effectively with minimal supervision.
