Job Description
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Portfolio Partners serve as strategic advisors and operational leaders within R&D Data & Technology, ensuring the effective management and optimization of the portfolio. They play a pivotal role in aligning initiatives with organizational strategy and delivering value through oversight and continuous improvement. Their responsibilities span across budgeting, analysis, resource allocation, risk management, and strategic planning. Portfolio Partners streamline project lifecycles and champion process optimization, fostering efficiency and clarity.
CORE ELEMENTS RELATED TO THIS ROLE:
Portfolio Oversight:
- Provide comprehensive governance of the R&D Data & Technology portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Guide and streamline investments through each phase of the investment lifecycle.
- Monitor and report on portfolio health, performance, and value delivery metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain a portfolio that reflects evolving business priorities and goals.
- Support and maintain standardized cross-functional portfolio and financial governance practices leveraging foundational and advanced analytics.
- Drive alignment with Corporate Finance to enable consistent tracking of Portfolio financials.
Strategic Budget and Resource Management:
- Lead budgeting initiatives, enabling accurate financial planning and forecasting.
- Facilitate real-time tradeoff discussions and enable agile investment management.
- Source, onboard, train and equip project management resources with tools, best practices and procedures to be successful.
- Serve as a trusted advisor providing clear financial guidelines that support informed decision-making and promote a culture of financial accountability.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate portfolio risks, ensuring proactive issue resolution.
- Support decision-making with scenario analysis, contingency planning, and data-driven insights.
- Anticipate priority or organizational shifts and adjust portfolio strategies accordingly.
- Proactively seek context, present solutions and make recommendations advising on financial implications of strategic decisions.
Process Optimization and Value Delivery:
- Implement best practices and scalable solutions to improve operational efficiency and maximize value delivery.
- Drive end-to-end process improvements, leveraging automation and digitization to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
- Standardize practices across teams to foster alignment and eliminate inconsistencies.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Ensure robust tracking and communication of key milestones, KPIs, and financials.
- Utilize dashboards and analytics to uncover trends, measure outcomes, and guide strategic decision-making.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as a liaison between project teams, leadership, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across R&D Data & Technology functions.
- Build strong relationships across levels and functions to enable cross-functional alignment and goal setting.
Change Management and Enablement:
- Ensure alignment of initiative objectives and priorities across R&D Data & Technology.
- Foster stakeholders buy-in and address barriers to adoption for new initiatives.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Drive exploration and innovation through special projects that advance organizational goals.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement across the portfolio.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's Degree with 10+ years of IT portfolio management experience or relevant IT finance experience.
- Project management experience, IT financial analysis experience, or equivalent.
- Experience partnering with business area leaders to deliver programs.
- Experience providing IT and or financial support to multiple business functions within a company. Computer Science or MIS (or equivalent).
- In-depth pharmaceutical industry experience.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
133,000.00 - 209,000.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
