OBJECTIVES:

  • Serves as the single point of contact R&D Technology Partner for all Pharmaceutical Sciences (Pharm Sci) - CMC - business capabilities and technology needs.
  • Develops collaborative partnerships across Pharm Sci that allow for building, and delivering on, strategic roadmaps that meet the unique technology needs of the organization
  • Develops understanding of the business objectives and technical support requirements of Pharm Sci, supporting development and delivery of required support and services
  • Partners with Global Digital Technology / R&D Technology Partners to ensure Pharm Sci specific needs are addressed and managed in a manner that promotes business stability and continuity
  • Serves as a strategic advisor and technology domain expert for Pharmaceutical Sciences/CMC scientific and clinical manufacturing informatics and digital solutions


ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop an understanding of the core technology issues central to Pharm Sci/CMC biotherapeutics and synthetic molecule drug and device development and clinical manufacturing through shared partnership
    • Develop strategy, process and governance for overall technology management, including but not limited to:
      • Business interactions
      • New technology needs
  • Cross-functional programs
  • Regulated and non-regulated lab informatics solutions (eg. ELN, LIMS, SDMS)
  • Evaluate current Pharm Sci platforms to understand where efficiencies can be gained by transitioning front-line system support for key platforms to strategic partners and execute accordingly
  • Provide an impact assessment and relevant communications to the Pharm Sci organization related to changes to GDT and cross-functional platforms managed by other groups, like Research Tech and Lab Systems, which support lab IT across R&D.
  • Incorporate unique technology needs of local Pharm Sci hubs colleagues to ensure consistent global support
  • Be a Steering Committee member of key Product Oriented Delivery (POD) teams and services for Pharm Sci organization
  • Enable technology budget for Pharm Sci needs, including Intake process and Budget Planning (MRP and MYC)
  • Collect Customer Insights (Customer Business Profiles, Maturity Levels) and provide necessary business context to the Pharm Sci Digital Solution Partners teams, including reframe and evaluation of problems to be solved and Value Propositions to be enabled
  • Create and maintain strategic roadmaps at a functional and regional level that ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Apply strategic foresight and future thinking skills while attending "Co-create Tomorrow" sessions and problem-solving workshops


EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Science or related field or equivalent experience required, Master's or PhD Degree preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in a technical environment with experience as a team leader
  • Experience setting performance standards in a comparable role
  • Experience working in a lab as a scientist or on R&D pipeline programs is a plus
  • Experience leading complex global projects and product teams
  • Experience implementing scientific software solutions a plus
  • Project/Product Management, Design thinking, Agile, or Strategic Foresight Certifications is a Plus
  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • A collaborative mindset is an absolute must.

For Location:

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$169,400.00 - $266,200.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
