Job Description
Research and Application Biologist is responsible in method development, performs and improves validation test and assist development of instrument hardware and software features and fixing. Research and Application Biologist shall plan, evaluate and recommend technical, quality and cost specifications from wet chemistry perspective to meet design and business growth objectives.
Principle Duties / Responsibilities:
Creative, innovative and ability to provide information from application or end-user perspective and challenge the design development of the analytical instrument developed. Work closely with team members from various different fields such as Hardware, Software and Firmware to ensure the analytical instrument developed conformed to the intended applications Conduct hands on in analytical method development and validation using the latest analytical tools and software and interpretation of test results. Evaluate design, provide feedbacks from application perspective and participate in continuous improvement effort in optimizing the analytical instruments that is being developed. Able to troubleshoot issues or errors related to qPCR biochemical experiment and design independently. Develop, implement and update effective and traceable documentation system to comply with ISO requirements. Solves a broad range of scientific problems of varying scope and complexity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master or PhD in Science (Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biology, Biomedical Science) or equivalent.
- Typically, >4 years of relevant experience or >1 year of direct experience in NGS and qPCR applications.
- Strong understanding of molecular biology, analytical chemistry and laboratory equipment and procedures.
- Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in related field and ability to work independently.
- Requires having good teamwork with other competency such as instrument hardware/software engineers.
- Requires basic knowledge in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Minitab), experimental design principles, hypothesis testing, and other statistical methods.
- Requires basic knowledge on data analytics and visualization (e.g. Macro, VBA, Power BI, Power Apps). Any relevant or similar data analytics and visualization could be considered.
