MORSE is an innovative, employee-owned, tech company located in Kendall Square in Cambridge, MA specializing in solving multi-disciplinary problems faced by the US National Security Ecosystem. Our specially selected team of engineers, software developers and scientists develop algorithms, software integrated prototypes and solutions for Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Manned and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, Mission Planning, and Situational Awareness.
Job Summary
The R&D Materials Engineer at MORSE Corp will develop first-of-a-kind materials for components of autonomous vehicles, sensor systems and other electromechanical systems with unique characteristics enabled by these materials. The candidate should be able to leverage a deep understanding of both the inherent material properties and the methods used for materials processing and manufacture. The R&D Materials Engineer will develop lab-scale processing and manufacturing equipment that alters conventional material systems that include polymers, metals, glasses, ceramics, and composites to achieve fundamentally new material properties. The candidate will then leverage these new materials to develop prototype components for characterization, demonstrations, and integration into larger systems for developmental testing. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to learn new domains quickly and break complex materials problems down into solvable and testable tasks to enable a rapid & iterate material design approach. The candidate will work in a small team and be responsible for both collaboratively and individually perform experiment design, execution, analysis and iteration.
