As a Mechanical Engineer at MORSE Corp, you will design, prototype, test, and fly mechanical systems ranging from small subsystems up to full aircraft assemblies.
Responsibilities:Mechanical design for unmanned aerial vehicles and systems
Take a new vehicle effort from the initial requirements stage, define an integrated design, analysis, manufacturing and test plan and execute that plan all the way to fielding.
Collaborate with a fast-moving multi-disciplinary team, and communicate clearly with electrical, aerospace and materials engineers, as well as customers and vendors.
Participate in both ground and flight testing
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, and serve as a trusted subject matter expert and resource for design teams across the company.
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED, and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience
Experience with Solidworks or similar CAD software
Prior experience in a rapid design/prototyping environment
Proficient in structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA)
Experience in development and communication of system requirements, and technical leadership
Experience with both destructive and non-destructive structural test methods
Familiarity with manufacturing methods, material selection, and design for manufacturability
Desire to work as part of a small, fast-moving team with an emphasis on rapidly fielding solutions to the US warfighter
MORSE Corp’s salary range for this role carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to, prior experience, education, skills and expertise, location, internal equity, and other factors that are job related and consistent with business need. Therefore, final offer amounts may vary from the amount stated. Depending on role eligibility, total compensation may also include bonus, stock, 401(k) match, paid time off, medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year. MORSE maintains an “open” leave policy that does not restrict exempt, regular full-time employees to a specific number of paid sick or vacation days. However, this policy is not an “unlimited” paid leave policy.
