Leading a team of RDQ professionals in product development, you identify and prioritize development activities. You lead teams that deliver RDQ activities needed to complete new product development, and that maintain portfolios and/or productivity projects, keeping in mind the goal to create the desired consumer experience.

You will work with a cross-functional partner to define, initiate and lead teams to successfully deliver business goals using technical rigor and best practices while effectively allocating resources and prioritizing workloads. You will also create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications. As a technical and people leaders, you demonstrate your own high levels of technical rigor and expertise and that of your team by tapping into internal and external resources to stay up-to-date on the latest best practices and to continuously identify opportunities for improvement, keeping in mind consumers' wants and needs. As a people leader, you recruit, retain and develop a team of direct and indirect reports to ensure highest team performance, and mentor and coach your team and others to grow capability and support career development.

What you need to know about this position:
You lead development of product solutions to sustain competitive advantage for our Biscuit & Baked Goods brands and deliver the innovation pipeline for MENAP and SSA, and are a key leader of the R&D AMEA regional Biscuit & Baked Goods Leadership Team. Leading a team of R&D professionals in product development, you identify and prioritize development activities for the Biscuit and Baked Goods category in MENAP and SSA . You lead teams that deliver R&D activities needed to complete new product development, renovation, quality improvement, and business continuity & that develop portfolios for short, medium and long term (always securing the desired consumer experience).

1. You are Accountable for delivering and building R&D technical programs . You will work with a cross-functional partner to define, initiate and lead teams to successfully deliver business goals using technical rigor, consumer centricity and best practices while effectively allocating resources and prioritizing workloads. Influencing skills are important in this role because you will use them to educate business stakeholders about technical risks, ensuring mitigation plans, clear communication and understanding to allow for effective cross-functional decision making. You will also create and maintain accurate consumer-led specifications.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in food related technical field (Food Science, Chemical engineering, or other relevant applied sciences)
  • 15+ years in related technical area (product/pack/process development) with demonstrated cross-category & cross-geography experience and understanding of business linkages in a global operating model
  • 5+ years of experience in team management
  • Experience working in cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams operating in a
  • dynamic, outcome-oriented environment
  • Strong technical background and effective communication skills, including proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to motivate in remote environment
  • Multi-discipline experience within R&D functions is highly advantageous
  • Business acumen and position in leadership team is highly advantageous
  • Fluent in English
