In our Finance division, caregivers use their knowledge and skills every day to provide exceptional experiences for patients and their families in a variety of diverse functions. Through the talents of over 2,500 dedicated caregivers, our Revenue Cycle Management team supports the Cleveland Clinic mission by securing timely, appropriate payment for services rendered, efficiently patient-friendly. In this role, you will have a strong introduction to future growth within the department. 

 
A caregiver in this position works the day/evening/night/weekend, 8:30AM – 5:00PM.  

 
A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide a comprehensive set of insurance authorization services.  

  • Crosstrain to staff all areas of authorization supporting any facility, such as verification, pre-certification, eligibility and benefits. 

  • Identify and use appropriate reports to contact insurance payers for resolution to accounts that are pending, denied or in the appeal process.  

  • Flag accounts for high dollar financial clearance.  

  • Perform registration input to ensure accurate patient information for the authorization process.  

  • Communicate with physician offices to obtain clinical information and/or coordinate peer-to-peer conversations.  

 
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Two years of experience in a customer facing role with in-person or phone contact OR Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree 

  • Demonstrated PC skills 

  • Handle multiple accounts in high volume insurance verification processes

Physical Requirements:

  • Sufficient mobility and strength to move around the department and throughout the facility.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Excessive walking and standing while obtaining patient information when using laptop computer on wheeled device for bedside registration.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment.
