Job Summary:
In a career as a Radiology Technologist, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will operate radiographic equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
Schedule: Full-Time, 8 hour days or 10 hours days, with rotating call covering x-ray and OR and rotating holidays.
Locations: West Hospital

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
  • Operates x-ray equipment, as assigned, for each exam in accordance with radiation safety guidelines.
  • Positions and instructs patients for each anatomical view using appropriate immobilization, support and protective devices.
  • Processes images in CR reader and DR system.
  • Successfully send images to PACS and demonstrates knowledge of basic PACS software.
  • Routes images and appropriate history electronically to the interpreting radiologist.
  • Completes clerical and billing functions required for completion of x-ray and CT studies.
  • Maintains and stocks supplies, provides a clean and orderly environment, using aseptic technique and infection control.
  • Performs complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of the CT scanner in accordance with prescribed radiation procedures, including all patient screening procedures.
  • Assures that for all scans correct patient, imaging site, patient positioning, correct protocols and scan parameters are verified.
  • Positions and instructs patients for CT scans using immobilization, support, and protective devices.
  • Administers contrast media, if indicated; screens and educates patients regarding contrast media, possible reactions, and post procedure contrast instructions; implements emergency procedures in response to contrast media reactions.
  • Evaluates CT scans for technical quality, collates processed images, in sequence of exposure, and appropriately labels.
  • Participates in department performance improvement and survey readiness activities.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Radiology service standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an AMA approved, accredited School of Radiologic Technology or an Education in Radiologic Technology from an approved program in the U.S. Military required.
  • ARRT in Radiography, CT and Nebraska Medical Radiography licensure required.
  • CPR Certification required.
