Job Description:
Status: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
Shift: 10-hour shifts | Primarily days with required weekend rotation
Pay Range: $18.22 – $23.68 per hour (dependent upon experience)
The Radiology Technologist Assistant provides essential support to imaging technologists in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and efficient workflow throughout the imaging process. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong patient care skills, clear communication, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.
Essential Functions- Accountable for the safe and effective delivery of patient care under the direction of the imaging technologist
- Assists in preparing patients for imaging examinations, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure
- Assists patients on and off procedure tables and to and from imaging rooms
- Assists in and/or oversees coordination of patient care
- Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to technologists and other patient care providers following procedures
- Routinely inspects patient transport equipment and notifies appropriate personnel when repairs are needed
- Transports patients to and from the Imaging Department while ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety
- May perform IV insertion upon completion of required certification and skill validation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, technologists, and healthcare team members
- Understanding of and adherence to safety regulations and guidelines related to imaging environments
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with electronic medical record systems
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff
