Shift:

  • 7:45am - 4:15pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • No weekends and no holidays

Primary Function:

To perform diagnostic radiographic procedures according to departmental policy and guidelines.

Principle Responsibilities:

· Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of radiographic equipment, radiology supported computer systems, and CD burners.

· Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.

· Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.

· Enter accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.

· Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.

· Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtain appropriate consent.

· Maintains patient confidentiality.

· Uses 3 patient identifiers at all times.

· Actively assists in the learning process of students and new staff in departmental procedures, quality control and radiation safety.

· Demonstrates problem solving skills, acts as liaison OP Imaging department, clinicians, nursing,

and ancillary departments to ensure customer satisfaction.

· Ability to assess patients for changes in patient status.

· Participates in collecting data for Performance Improvement surveys.

· Attends departmental meetings and in-services as required.

· Maintains required credentials for CPR, critical skills, and mandatory in-service education.

· Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.

· Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.

· Reports to supervisor in a timely manner call back studies and coordinates patient’s return for imaging.

Education and Experience Requirements:

· Completion of a two-year accredited program in Radiologic Technology is required.

· Mammography certified when applicable (achieved within two years of hire – when applicable)

· Bone Dosimetry certification when applicable.

· State Licensure on Radiation Protection is as required.

· CPR Certification

· An associate’s degree is preferred for this position.

· Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.

Special Requirements:

· ARRT registered

· Delaware State License if applicable.

· ARRT Mammography Registered if applicable - the successful completion of the Mammography Registration exam is a requirement for those performing mammography procedures. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.

This position pays $31.51 to $43.32 based on experience.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
