As an R2R Sr. Specialist supporting Finance, Reporting and Accounting team, you will be responsible of applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Responsible for the accounting requirements to be completed in a timely and accurate manner for the assigned areas.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Lead, manage and grow RPA team in the different assigned activities.
- Control and monitoring Team activities in a timely manner.
- Interact proactively with functional areas to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting is accomplished within prescribed deadlines.
- Collaborate proactively with key stakeholders, including Finance colleagues and Regional Financial Reporting and Accounting. Communication with these stakeholders is appropriate and timely when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise.
- Ensure all processes comply with Alcon standards and policies (i.e. global processes, Alcon Accounting Manual, Alcon Financial Controls Manual, Management Authorization Levels, etc.).
- Control and monitoring of old items in the balance sheets, as well as the cleaning and compensation of the items that make up the balances.
- Promote a strong control environment and follow up on audit issues and implement correcting measures.
- Support on audit processes, providing evidence of the requirements.
- Proactively find ways to simplify and standardize current processes, as well as to coordinate the knowledge transfer of these practices to the team.
- Decision making and problem solving, within their role and scope
- Balance sheet accounts analysis & reconciliations
- Analyze and understand accounting differences between local GAAP and IFRS.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance required. Masters or Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred
- CPA/Chartered Accountant preferred
- 3-5 years of accounting experience – public and industry preferred
- Ability to apply accounting practices. Good analytical skills.
- ERP knowledge (SAP)
- Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
- Experience working with shared services preferred
- English proficiency
