Role Description

Ubiquiti Taipei office is looking for a Hardware Engineer who shares our passion for innovation and technology and desire to do something extraordinary. This position will enable you to participate in hardware design for Ethernet products, like Ethernet Switches and Gateway routers with worldwide impact. You will be in touch with our R&D labs from different countries around the globe. We expect you to bring your experience, enthusiasm, and creativity wherever you go and put them in the work you do. You should be able to think out of the box when finding solutions to new problems and make things work.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with Rack level system architecture and responsible for defining 100G Data Center Switch, 100G/Multi-G PoE Switch, Enterprise Gateway/Router product spec, and system architecture design. 
  • Design and verify 100G/Multi-G PoE Switch and Enterprise Gateway/Router system, considering HW, SW, FW, ME, SI, thermal and acoustic issues and work closely with BSP and FW team to figure out issues and system bring up. 
  • Involved product life phase from NPI, MP, to EOL.
  • Co-work with function teams, PCB layout, component engineering, firmware, mechanical engineering, electrical power engineering, thermal engineering, QA, software engineering, project management, ID, compliance engineering, etc.
  • Work with OEM/CM on manufacturing definition, tests, and issues resolved. 
  • Define testing items/criteria/coverage to ensure PoE Switch and Gateway/Router system quality. 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Over 8 - 10 years of experience in a related role with experience in the system(hardware) designs and leading a design team. 
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design. 
  • Experience in 802.3at/bt Power over Ethernet PSE/PD, 100G/Multi-G Ethernet PHY, Ethernet Switch, Ethernet Router/Gateway.
  • 100Gbps/40Gbps/25Gbps/10Gbps serdes, USB3.1/3.2, PCI-E Gen2/3/4, SATA3, high-speed interface design and measurement experience
  • Experience with ESD, Surge, safety, and compliance regulations.
  • Experience in DC/DC power circuit design, power sequence measurement, and power placement layout checking.
  • Familiar with hardware EDA tools, ORCAD Capture CIS, Cadence ORCAD Layout, Cadence Allegro, Mentor PADS.
  • Familiar with Broadcom, Marvell, Realtek, MTK solutions, and ARM/MIPS platform.

  • Outdoor, industrial-grade product design experience.
  • Experience in 400G switch products.
