The Opportunity
As our R&D Testing Expert, you will join our R&D team, an organization leading continuous research and development activities on Tap changers. As part of our global R&D community including R&D departments and Hitachi Energy Research Centers worldwide, you will contribute to improvement of the performance and development of Tap Changers . You will focus on developing new products and further optimization of existing portfolio. As a member of the highly skilled R&D team, you will suggest methods and analyze tests and verification of products for projects and contribute to the global roadmap execution.
How you’ll make an impact
You keep monitored the product portfolio by suggesting any new test requirement given by the International Standards
You’ll be the reference for any Product development requests in terms of special tests requirements, by organizing them when needed, in coordination with R&D teams
You analyze the product during the development and suggest tests and test methods for risk mitigation in an early stage.
You organize and are well updated on the different type test requirements bodies as IEE and IEC
You run or supervise the tests as well as analyze the before, during and after the tests
You have good knowledge in a variety of tests spectra's such as dielectric, mechanical, thermal, Fatigue and tribological tests and how to perform and evaluate them
Your background
Minimum Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or similar
Deep knowledge of the design/testing and experience in developing of HV insulation components, preferably tap-changers
Knowledge in dielectric simulations with Multiphysics software such as COMSOL is a plus
Responsible team player with structured, proactive, self-driven and result oriented work approach
Proven experience in electrical engineering R&D role or similar with direct experience of testing.
Fluent in English, Swedish is plus

Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field
- Deep knowledge of designing and testing high-voltage insulation components
- Experience developing high-voltage insulation components, preferably tap changers
- Proven experience in an electrical engineering R&D role or similar position with direct testing experience
- Fluent English
- Knowledge of dielectric simulations using multiphysics software such as COMSOL
- Swedish language skills
- Structured, proactive, self-driven, result-oriented, and collaborative work approach
