The opportunity
You will join Hitachi Energy’s Transformers Technology organization, where innovation in insulation systems and dielectric technologies is at the core of our work. The team supports global factories and customer projects worldwide, combining deep technical expertise with real industrial impact.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of research, engineering, and application, contributing to the development of advanced insulation systems and alternative insulating fluids for power transformers. You will collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing sites, laboratories, and external suppliers across regions.
The role requires strong technical depth, ownership, and cross‑functional cooperation. You will grow through hands‑on technical challenges, exposure to global projects, and continuous technology development. This position offers flexibility, responsibility, and strong learning opportunities within an international environment.
How you’ll make an impact
Conduct dielectric and insulation feasibility studies for power transformers
Design and optimize solid, liquid, and composite insulation systems
Perform FEM-based simulations for electric field and dielectric stress analysis
Support factories during project execution, troubleshooting, and design clarification
Develop and improve transformer insulation design software tools
Lead qualification activities for alternative insulating fluids
Collaborate with suppliers, laboratories, and manufacturing teams globally
Contribute to standards, specifications, and risk assessment improvements
Your background
Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials, Dielectrics, or High Voltage Engineering
Strong expertise in dielectric phenomena
Working experience with insulating materials is an advantage
Proven experience with FEM-based simulation tools
Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in international and cross-functional teams
