R&D Project ManagerOur R&D engineers and scientists develop breakthrough technologies that change the way the world works, and industries do business. We constantly push the limits of convention, while retaining our focus on delivering solid returns for our customers and shareholders.As a R&D Project Manager you will contribute significantly to successful results in projects in High Power Division in Beijing/China. You will utilize your knowledge and skills in technology and/or product development to identify and implement innovative solutions.Your responsibilities
- Leads and supports project teams in projects or sub-projects of a complex project.
- Focusing on new product development project execution, from medium voltage cabinet development to typetest, certification, productization and finally roll out to full volume production, closely work with other functions such as PEQ, operation, SCM in R&D project to achieve smooth project execution and on-time, on cost and on quality delivery.
- Accountable for the end-to-end planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of assigned project(s).
- Motivates and monitors internal and/or external resources to accomplish all committed targets.
- Ensure objectives, priorities, key decisions, and status are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
- Oversees / facilitates the development and management of cost, schedule, quality, and performance objectives for projects.
- Utilizes the appropriate metrics and KPIs to provide early detection of project deviations and facilitates data-driven decision-making and transparency.
- Ensures that changes, risks, and issues are properly assessed, managed, and communicated.
- Ensure projects follow sound methodology and execution practices, aligned with desired development model and in accordance with applicable ABB internal directives and procedures as well as external standards.
- Master’s degree or above
- Experience leading R&D NPD projects or teams, either straight- or dotted-line leadership
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management or product development, experience with frequency converter development & productization or similar complex devices is a plus
- Know-how with PPAP or APQP is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, positive attitude and team player
- Fluent in English
