Your role and responsibilities

We are now looking for an R&D Project Manager to strengthen our team at ABB Motion, IEC Low-Voltage Division. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead cross-functional Research and Development projects, sub-projects, product maintenance and development assignments. Each day, you will coordinate the cross-functional project teams, leading the value creation in partnership with key stakeholders. In this role you will report to Project Management Office (PMO) Team Lead, Europe. This role can be located in Vaasa, Finland or Aleksandrow Lodzki, Poland.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Leading and supporting cross-functional project teams, taking ownership for end-to-end planning, coordination, execution and delivery of the assignment
  • Monitoring and controlling development progress to ensure achievement of commitments and targeted milestones
  • Identifying and managing uncertainties and risks
  • Ensuring the team understands customer value in the projects, ensures customer satisfaction, and manages stakeholder expectations
  • Supporting Continuous Improvement of R&D Processes and Tools
Qualifications for the role
  • At least a few years of experience in Product Development or Project Management
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Engineering or Business
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and to promote cross-functional collaboration
  • Proactive mindset combined with Lean and Agile way of working
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work with people with different backgrounds
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-cultural environment
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Fluent Finnish or Polish (depending on the location) is a must in this role
