R&D Project Manager (Malvern, PA)
As a financial and operational partner to R&D and Finance leadership, this role drives financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) expenditure management across innovation projects, delivering visibility into project performance, resource utilization, and financial risks while improving data integrity and reporting efficiency.
Your role:
- Drive the execution and operating rhythm for R&D budget planning, forecasting, and monthly reporting across labor and non-labor expenses, including gathering and validating inputs, maintaining repeatable financial tracking processes, and delivering accurate, timely information to the Finance Partner for AOP, forecast cycles, month-end reviews, and leadership reporting.
- Monitor R&D spending, project costs, resource utilization, and budget performance to identify variances, financial risks, and cost optimization opportunities. Manages day-to-day R&D financial operations including budget tracking, purchase order (PO) creation and management, cost monitoring, accrual tracking, and financial data maintenance across systems.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities, including variance analysis and month-end close support, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Prepares and maintains financial dashboards, operational reports, and cost analyses to support R&D project tracking, financial visibility, and operational decision-making.
- Work closely with Project Leaders and R&D teams to develop, maintain, and track detailed Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) cost plans and project expenditures.
- Collaborate with Finance, R&D, Project Management, and IT teams to improve financial processes, reporting efficiency, data quality, and automation capabilities, while providing operational support and guidance to other analysts as needed. Owns the implementation and continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, tools, and reporting standards to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and data accuracy.

- You’ve acquired 2+ years of relevant experience supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities—preferably within R&D, engineering, or project-based environments.
- Experience supporting areas such as Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), management reporting, cost control, financial modeling, accounting, or financial operations, including budget tracking and variance analysis, preferred.
- Your skills include experience with (preferred):
- R&D Cost Management (labor and non-labor), including NRE cost tracking.
- Data analysis & interpretation with strong attention to accuracy and data integrity.
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and financial reporting tools.
- Management and Operational Reporting, including month‑end and forecast cycles.
- Process Improvement & Financial Controls in regulated or matrixed environments.
- Digital Dashboards and Data Visualization (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Automation and Productivity Tools (e.g., Power Automate, Microsoft Power Platform).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial models, data reconciliation).
- You have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, Program Management OR Vocational Education in Project Management or 6+ years of above related experience.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position in Malvern, PA is $83,000 to $131,000.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
