Role Summary:
This internship offers hands‑on experience contributing to the development, testing, and improvement of automation technologies used across global logistics systems. Interns will support real product and tooling initiatives while learning electromechanical system behavior, industrial software concepts, and R&D engineering workflows.
Essential Functions
Learn the electromechanical operation of automated material‑handling and logistics equipment.
Participate in the development and refinement of control algorithms for new and existing automation equipment.
Assist with testing, validation, and debugging of electromechanical and software‑driven systems.
Document design decisions, code updates, test results, and engineering guidelines.
Support the creation and improvement of engineering tools and processes used across R&D projects.
Collaborate with mechatronics, controls, and software engineers on cross‑functional product development efforts.
Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Gain exposure to modern engineering standards, test processes, and development tools.
Required Education and Experience:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Coursework, academic projects, or hands‑on experience involving software development, automation, controls, or industrial equipment is preferred.
Technical Skills:
PLC code development experience
Exposure to automation or industrial systems
Analytical and problem‑solving skills
Familiarity with engineering documentation and testing practices
Interest in electromechanical systems or industrial software development
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full‑time summer internship position, Monday through Friday. Flexible start times are available between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., with end times between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., including a one‑hour lunch break.
Travel:
No travel required.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Office‑based environment with extended periods working at a computer
Occasional movement within the office to access equipment
