Lead innovation that protects people and empowers professionals worldwide

Some products are simply used. Others are trusted – every day, in tough environments, in work that demands precision, safety, and endurance. At Husqvarna, we work with the latter.

Within Product R&D Accessories, we develop products that truly make a difference. When a forestry worker fells a tree, when a professional landscaper works close to noisy machines, or when ergonomically designed carrying equipment is used – our accessories contribute to safety, efficiency, and better working conditions. The Product R&D Accessories team develops personal protective equipment, communication solutions, forestry accessories, carrying systems, and more. These are products that don’t just need to function – they protect lives, create confidence, and improve workdays around the world.

Role Description

As leader of the team, you play a key role in translating Husqvarna’s 300‑year engineering heritage into modern, user‑centric innovation. You lead a team of skilled engineers passionate about mechanical design and product development, and you actively influence how future accessories are designed, experienced, and used.

The role combines technical leadership, people development, and strategic responsibility in a product area where quality, safety, and usability are critical. Your responsibilities include:

  • Line management responsibility for a team of five employees, with consultants added as needed
  • Coaching, competence development, and continuous follow‑up to build a high‑performing and healthy team
  • Attracting, developing, and retaining talent
  • Budget responsibility for the line, including planning, forecasting, and follow‑up
  • Resource and capacity planning to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Prioritization and coordination of the team’s work in close collaboration with product owners, project managers, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensuring strong engineering practices and technical excellence within mechanical development
  • Driving continuous improvements in ways of working, methods, and tools
  • Contributing to technical strategies and the long‑term product roadmap for Accessories

You step into a role that combines technology, leadership, and strategic influence. You will work in a dynamic, international environment with a high pace of innovation, alongside highly engaged colleagues with broad and deep technical expertise.

Your profile

We believe you are an engaged and inclusive leader who thrives in a technically complex development environment. You combine strong leadership capabilities with experience from mechanical design, product development, or a closely related technical field.

You are skilled at creating structure, clear priorities, and a safe working environment, and you collaborate easily across functions and disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leadership, line management, or technical team leadership
  • Several years of experience in mechanical product development or a related area
  • Strong ability to plan resources, manage budgets, and drive development initiatives
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in both Swedish and English, as we operate in a global context

Meritorious

  • Experience with carrying systems / harness development (textile, plastic, metal) and ergonomic product design
  • Experience in PPE development, particularly helmets, hearing protection (passive/active), or other protective equipment
  • Experience from forestry work and tools, arborist equipment, or outdoor products
  • Experience with certification and compliance processes (EN standards, testing, safety requirements)

Location
Our team is based in Huskvarna, where we strongly believe in the value of working closely together. Some flexibility is possible, but we aim for on‑site presence since collaboration is at the core of how we work.
