Eight Sleep is looking for an experienced R&D Machine Vision Scientist to help us expand our product features and research capabilities. You will be responsible for designing next gen machine vision and perception algorithms that enable world-class accuracy. Today, we offer heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep, and other metrics. Tomorrow, your imagination will unlock new meaningful metrics that will induce behavior change for better sleep and better health. To do so, you will work closely with a cross-functional R&D and product development team to prototype and to ship solutions.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about health technologies and about making an impact on health outcomes. We look for people who tackle problems with a system approach, and make data driven decisions to deliver the best products to our users.

• Design perception and computer vision algorithms

• Collaborate cross functionally to define algorithm specifications

• Design studies and curate training and validation datasets

• Train, fine-tune and validate machine learning algorithms

• Coordinate with the software development team to incorporate algorithms into production

• 3+ years of industry experience in machine / computer vision

• Familiarity with classical computer vision techniques and open source toolkits (e.g. OpenCV, dlib)

• Expertise with implementing and fine tuning open source machine learning and computer vision models

• Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g. Pytorch, Tensorflow)

• Experience deploying ML models to compute constrained systems (e.g. ARM-based embedded Linux)

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, MS or PhD preferred
