About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced R&D Platform Group Lead to own and lead the Data domain alongside core backend platform services, built and operated on AWS.
This is a senior technical-managerial role responsible for multiple R&D teams, defining technical direction and ensuring operational excellence for shared platform capabilities used across Cellebrite products.
The role requires strong cloud-native architecture experience on AWS, deep backend and data engineering expertise, and proven people leadership at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Group & People Leadership
- Own and evolve the data platform architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability
- Lead the strategic evolution of the data platform, balancing scalability, reliability, security, and cost
- Drive adoption of modern data patterns such as lakehouse (Iceberg), event-driven pipelines, and schema-aware data processing
- Drive cloud-native architecture using AWS services and Kubernetes (EKS)
- Drive design, model, and evolve the Data Lake architecture
- Drive design, build, and optimize high-scale ETL/ELT pipelines
- Lead the design and development of backend services and APIs for SaaS applications
- Partner with security and governance stakeholders to support regulated and sensitive data workloads
- Lead design reviews and architecture discussions
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, backend teams, and product managers to deliver end-to-end data solutions
- Over 8 years of leadership experience as a Group Leader (second-line manager) leading SaaS teams in data and backend domains
- Proven experience designing and operating large-scale, cloud-native data platforms on AWS (mandatory)
- Deep understanding of designing, building, and operating backend services on AWS
- Strong understanding of AWS data ecosystem and Data Lake/Lakehouse architectures
- Python & TypeScript as a primary language
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate long-term vision into actionable roadmaps
- Strong sense of end-to-end ownership, from design to production operations
- Passion for automation, simplicity, and scalable design
- Excellent communicator who can translate complex technical decisions to diverse stakeholders.
