About the job

You’re our expert in Manufacturing Methods and Processes, involving both strategic and operational aspects by developing our knowledge and technology strategy for the field, while turning plans and strategies into action. You provide technical leadership, influencing colleagues, stakeholders and decision-makers across the organization on complex technology choices, priorities and ways of working with broad business impact. A key part of your role is Machining Development, contributing to the development of new manufacturing methods and technologies.

Job responsibilities

  • Take technical leadership for both the content and direction of the machining area, setting priorities, and driving effective ways of working.
  • Identify future machining technologies and knowledge needs.
  • Set the roadmap, initiate projects, and drive technology development together with your core team and stakeholders.
  • Translate new knowledge and technologies into future products and efficient production methods.
  • Build valuable internal and external collaborations through research and development activities.
  • Share expertise, coach colleagues and support competence development within the organization.
  • Promote and implement best practices, knowledge sharing and effective ways of working across teams.

Location

This position is based in Sandviken, and occasional business travel may be required.

Your profile

You have a relevant academic background in mechanical engineering, engineering or another technical field, or equivalent knowledge gained through experience. A solid foundation in machining, manufacturing technology or a closely related area enables you to apply both theoretical and practical expertise to complex technical challenges.

Your background includes

  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience in CAM or machining methods.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills combined with a systematic scientific approach.
  • Knowledge of CNC technology and controller capabilities, CAD, simulation of tool paths, post-processor development or programming.
  • Experience developing methods, technologies or technical solutions.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
