Job Description:
Job Summary: Researches, designs, develops, and improves various types of HVAC equipment, products, and systems. Supports manufacturing operations through product design, engineering documentation, customer-requested product modifications, and implementation of engineering changes. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop practical, manufacturable, and cost-effective design solutions while maintaining engineering records, drawings, and Bills of Material.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities:
· Uses computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.
· Generates conceptual, preliminary, and production drawings for new and existing products.
· Maintains engineering records and designs.
· Assesses engineering designs and prototypes to identify potential issues and risks.
· Supports order processing activities by evaluating and implementing customer-specific product modifications while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, manufacturing capabilities, and product performance requirements.
· Coordinates Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
· Supports manufacturing operations by investigating and resolving product and production-related issues.
· Confers with engineering management and project stakeholders to complete assigned projects.
· Manages multiple assignments simultaneously while collaborating with senior engineers and engineering leadership.
· Develops and applies engineering knowledge related to HVAC systems, manufacturing processes, company products, and engineering standards.
· Maintains and builds professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, or participating in professional societies.
· Travels, when necessary, for field issues or product development activities at other company locations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Degree(s):
ABET Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical experience in the field of HVAC.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-3 years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
- Prior experience with Siemens Solid Edge or similar CAD systems is a plus.
- Experience with Teamcenter, SAP, or other ERP/PLM systems is a plus.
- Prior sheet metal design experience is a plus.
